Barn wedding costs and what to include in your budget
A wedding budget can look quite straightforward until someone asks who is supplying the glasses. Or collecting them. Or washing them up. None of these is the most romantic part of getting married, but knowing the answers makes planning a great deal easier.
When you’re comparing barn wedding costs, the useful figure is the cost of the day you actually want. Start with roughly the same guest numbers and dates for each venue, then work through what is included.

Barn wedding costs: what’s included in the venue hire?
Ask about the rooms, furniture, heating, staffing and time you’ll have to set up. If you’re picturing a particular layout or an outdoor ceremony, talk that through as well. You want to know how your plans fit the booking before you start paying suppliers.
At The Rhynd, send us your date ideas, approximate numbers and a little about what you’re planning. We can then discuss current options and the arrangements for your wedding. Access times do vary, so check your own dates rather than borrowing another couple’s timetable.
Food and drink deserve their own conversation
A price for dinner may cover more than the food on the plate. Ask about service staff, crockery, cutlery, equipment and evening food. It’s much easier to compare two menus when you know what comes with each.
We don’t charge corkage at The Rhynd. If you’ve been saving a particular wine for the occasion, that may be very welcome news. Still, talk through how your drinks will be chilled, served and cleared, and check any separate service or glassware costs. No corkage is one part of the drinks arrangements.
Think about when people will eat, too. A generous dinner and a well-timed evening snack may suit your plans better than ordering every possible extra.

Remember the morning after
Flowers, a photographer and a band tend to make the first list. Supplier collections and the journey home are less glamorous, but they need a place on it, too.
If you’re booking the farmhouse or Forest Rooms, keep accommodation costs clear and agree who is paying. Any meals or activities around the wedding need their own arrangements. Leave a little room in the budget for changes as the plans develop.
There is no need to arrive with everything decided. Tell us what matters most, ask the slightly dull questions as well as the exciting ones, and we’ll talk it through. Get in touch for current wedding options at The Rhynd and a closer look at what your day could involve.
