Stay at The Rhynd

Rhynd Farmhouse

A Peaceful Retreat

Looking for a secluded, quiet place to stay in North East Fife, only four minutes from the beach, and only 15 minutes from St Andrews? Look no further! The Rhynd Farmhouse is just a one-minute walk from the café and has been freshly renovated, sleeping nine people. We also do wellness retreats, with delicious food, yoga, mental coaching and personal training sessions.

The House

The Rhynd Farmhouse has been part of Leuchars Estate since Derek Foster bought it after the Second World War. His son and daughter-in-law John and Clarinda farmed here from the early 1970s and now, Clarinda and her youngest son Ed run the farm.

The Rhynd, meaning point or peninsula in Gaelic roinn, was a dairy farm right up until the 1980s, and was the home of the farm manager. The Fosters have transformed the steading over the past few years for the café and event space, and the Farmhouse is the latest addition.

Only 20 metres from the event space, the house has been completely renovated in a no-expense-spared project. Being over 150 years old, the Fosters were keen to restore it to its former glory after a few years of neglect. The project saw everything from the original fireplaces opened up to extra bathrooms being put in.

Breakfast/Food

While the house is self-catering, we want to make things as easy as possible for you. We’ll deliver breakfast (local sausages and bacon, freshly baked bread, eggs, muesli and milk) to you on Friday morning, with enough in it to last until Sunday.

The café next door is open from 9am until 5pm Friday to Sunday, and serves everything from soup to stew, via burgers, macaroni and cheese, great coffee (there is a Nespresso machine in the house) and delicious cakes. If you don’t want to have to cook, we can also organise a chef to come in.

Booking Process

It’s very easy to book the farmhouse, all you need to do is contact the Rhynd manager Lisa on lisa@craigiefarm.co.uk or 01334 839218. She can take all your details and the non-refundable 50% deposit.

A month before we will need the rest of the payment, and a £500 deposit that will be refunded the day after you leave (see below). You can arrive at the Rhynd Farmhouse at midday on the day of your arrival, and don’t have to be out until 3pm on the day of departure – we want you to have as much time as possible to enjoy the big garden!
